Film & TV Editor
Story comes first.
Matthew is an award-winning* film & TV editor based in Los Angeles. He grew up in Reston, Virginia, where he wrote & directed his own short films. He attended California State University, Long Beach, earning a BA in Film & Video Production. He is a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild.
Matthew’s strengths as an editor are his keen sense of storytelling, pacing, and rhythm, thanks in part to his musical background as a percussionist. A lover of all genres, his favorite films are Ghostbusters, Little Miss Sunshine, Catch Me If You Can, Psycho, and Whiplash.
Matthew recently edited the family comedy, Popular Theory, the holiday romcom, Rescuing Christmas, and 10-time festival award-winning drama, Black White and the Greys. He was Additional Editor on the storm-chasing thriller, Supercell, and the Nicolas Cage-led monster film, Arcadian, which premiered at SXSW.
Some of Matthew's TV credits include Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, Chicago Fire, and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. He also worked at Sony’s feature marketing department, where he edited behind-the-scenes featurettes for big-budget films, including Pixels, Searching, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and Don't Breathe 2.
While Matthew's passion lies in feature film editing, no project is too small for him. Whether it be cutting a feature, a micro-budget short, or whipping up a quick acting reel, he values experience and networking the most. He works from his home office in Los Angeles, with flexible availability for client sit-ins upon request.

With a reputation for a meticulous eye and positive energy, Matthew exceeds expectations in quality and turnaround time.
